About the Game
Odin's Wrath is a third person endless runner aimed for all audiences.
In Odin's Wrath, the player is trapped in the cold realm of Hel, forever running along the bridge of the dead. Collect powerups and increase your score, or your soul will forever be lost.
This project was in collaboration with Chris Thompson and was my first experience making a game within Unreal Engine
Contribution
As this was a collaboration project between myself and my college tutor at the time during my final year in West Suffolk College (2022), I wanted to focus on diversifying my skillset and aimed to learn Maya for the first time, as before I was utilising Cinema 4D. The project was made within Unreal Engine.
My contributions to this project included:
- Modelling all assets in Maya, texturing inside the software also.
- Partial Coding, implementing the UI/Widgets & Score System.
- Integrating Mixamo Character & Animations into the project.
As stated previously, the collaboration on this project was between Chris and I. I focused more on the Asset side of things, but also experimenting in Unreal Engine as it was my first time using the software.
What I Learned
This project taught me to go out of my comfort zone and try new things, as I managed to get to grips with Maya fairly quickly. It also introduced me to Texturing and how to utilise UV Maps, something which I struggled with during my earlier years in College.
